Kevin W. Walker is an award-winning film and concert composer based in Burbank, California, whose work spans film, orchestral and chamber music, songwriting, arranging and music production. He has composed music for more than 40 film projects, bringing a classically trained musical voice and decades of recording experience to storytelling on screen.
Walker received the Roger Taylor Award for Best Original Score — Short Film at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in consecutive years: for Promises in 2023 and Hard Light in 2024. His recent film work also includes Révérence, Who Knows?, orchestral arrangements for the feature St. Nick of Bethlehem, and the feature film Beyond the Crashing Waves, currently in post-production and starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Billy Zane, Lisa Brenner and Brian O’Halloran, screening at the 2026 American Film Market.
A graduate of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Walker studied composition with George Akerley and piano with concert pianist Dr. Annette DiMedio. Following a seminar at the Curtis Institute of Music, he was invited by Academy Award and Grammy-winning composer John Corigliano to study composition privately with him while Walker pursued graduate studies in New York.
Beyond film, Walker’s concert music includes a piano concerto, string quartet, cello sonata, Elegy for Piano Trio, works for violin and piano, solo piano, flute and piano, and woodwind quintet. His music has received radio airplay in the United States and internationally, and his Elegy for Piano Trio, written for Dr. Annette DiMedio, has been performed throughout the United States, Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
Walker’s career has also encompassed orchestration, record production and audio post-production, giving him an unusually broad understanding of the complete journey from composition and recording through the final soundtrack.
